Adoption Fee
All adoptions (standard or Hardee Hound) include the following procedures from our veterinarian:
Physical examination with vaccinations, including Rabies and Bordatella
Spaying or neutering
Heartworm and Lyme disease tests
Complete dental with extractions if necessary and a cleaning and polishing of the teeth
Deworming
Bath
Each adoption also comes with the following:
Martingale collar and lead, a muzzle, a Rubit! carabiner-style dog tag clip, and a BRGA ID tag
One year membership in Blue Ridge Greyhound Adoption
A network of members to help and guide you, plus your own BRGA ‘buddy’
Your personal Adoption Orientation Booklet which includes the details of your dog with his medical history
standard Adoptions ($325)
Due to increased vetting and transportation costs, the tax-deductible adoption fee is now $325 (cash or personal check) for all standard adoptions after January 1, 2019. You may also pay by credit card for an additional $10 (to cover transaction fees). This adoption fee also covers transportation costs to get your greyhound from Florida to Virginia.
HARDee hero hound Adoptions ($650)
Due to increased vetting and training costs, the tax-deductible adoption fee is now $650 (cash or personal check) for all Hardee Hero Hound adoptions after March 1, 2019. You may also pay by credit card for an additional $10 (to cover transaction fees). Fees for Hardee Hounds must be paid at least 3-4 weeks prior to adoption. This adoption fee also covers the following:
10 weeks of in-residence obedience training with inmate-trainers at the Greyhound Advancement Center, Hardee Correctional Institute
Food and medical care for your hound while they are in the program
