Each adoption also comes with the following:

standard Adoptions ($375)
The tax-deductible adoption fee is now $375 (cash or personal check) for all standard adoptions approved after June 1, 2019. You may also pay by credit card for an additional $10 (to cover transaction fees). This adoption fee also covers transportation costs to get your greyhound from Florida to Virginia.
Note: We are currently experiencing unusually large variations in vetting and transportation costs between hauls. Thanks to the generosity of donors we are able to absorb some of this fluctuation; however, given the variations in cost there is the potential for this fund to be quickly depleted. As a result, for planning purposes for our new adopters, BRGA reserves the right to increase the standard adoption fee to no higher than $450 for any applicant approved after June 1, 2019. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
PRISON hound Adoptions ($650)
Due to increased vetting and training costs, the tax-deductible adoption fee is now $650 (cash or personal check) for all Prison Hound adoptions after March 1, 2019. You may also pay by credit card for an additional $20 (to cover transaction fees). Fees for Prison Hounds must be paid at least 3-4 weeks prior to adoption. This adoption fee also covers the following:
8-10 weeks of in-residence obedience training with inmate-trainers at the Greyhound Advancement Center (either Hardee Correctional Institute or Central Florida Reception Center)
Food and medical care for your hound while they are in the program
