Nearly one year ago, Orly Potter crossed over the rainbow bridge and BRGA lost a great friend. The Potters, longtime members and supporters of Blue Ridge Greyhound Adoption, recently donated five of Orly's gently-used coats to BRGA.
During the cold and chilly months, the Florida Greyhounds brave the greyhound underground railroad (GUR) with no heat other than what their snuggles provide. It's a long journey for the hounds and the people. Once they're here, they're not acclimated to the much lower Virginia temperatures, and it goes a long way to make them feel safe and comfortable in their new home.
Now that it's getting warmer, it's the perfect time for you to update your hound's wardrobe. Instead of putting your old coats into storage, consider donating them to BRGA! Every coat we receive will go to a hound in need.
Thanks to Orly and the Potters, five newly adopted broken-leg dogs will have cozy coats to keep them warm during the cold months. The first of these coats has been given to none other than the rehabilitated broken-leg hound Mosquito Bite.
How many hounds can you keep warm this winter? All coat sizes are welcome. Please consider donating your used coats to help a hound in need!
