Come out and enjoy these scenic 5k/10k cross country courses around the scenic property.  Enjoy the oyster roast after the race!  

Walkers and leashed pets are welcome to attend this event.  Strollers are welcome, but course may not be suitable for the average stroller.

Now offering a virtual run option for those who cannot make it on race day.  You will receive a medal.

10k/5k - 10am

 

Registration Fees

5k - $30, until Oct 15 ($35)

10k - $45, until Oct 15 ($50)

T-shirts guaranteed to runners registered before Oct 17.  We will order extra t-shirts for those who register after that date, but it is on a first-come first-served basis.

 

Packet Pickup

At the event (one hour before the race starts).

 

Race Day Registration

There will be race day registration. Participants will need to arrive around 45 minutes before the race to get registered for the event. T-shirts sizes can not be guaranteed for race day registers.

 

Directions to Parking

The race starts and ends at Castle Hill Cider (6065 Turkey Sag Rd, Keswick, VA 22947).  Parking is on-site.

Barktoberfest

Join fellow animal lovers at the Loudoun County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 6th as Friends of Homeless Animals hosts its signature event, Barktoberfest: A Purrfect Pet Celebration.

Bring the whole family, including your beloved fur kids! We’ll be gathering to listen to live music, play games (kids and dogs), shop from a variety of vendors, eat and drink some great food and beverages, watch canine demonstrations and much more --- all to help raise much needed funds to allow FOHA to continue its mission of rescuing and finding “forever” homes for homeless animals.

**Barktoberfest starts at 10:30AM ($5 suggested donation to attend, kids & pets are free!)**

Dog Daze

The Water Mine will once again go to the dogs this September with a season-ending event benefitting the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and the Fairfax County Park Foundation.

Dogs-only swimming and a canine resource fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Suggested donation of $10 per dog. 

This year's end-of-season doggie dip will again feature a canine resource fair. Two-legged and four-legged friends can enjoy prizes and visit vendors that including veterinarians, dog boutiques, the Park Authority and more. Human friends can learn about the county’s nine dog parks, find out how to volunteer as a dog park monitor and learn about dog park etiquette.

This summer 5k/10k will run around the Barrel Oak Winery property. It is mostly grassy trail. Come for the race, but stay for the wine after on this gorgeous vineyard!

Ruff Tuesday

Caboose Brewing Company is a dog friendly brewery. Every Tuesday from June 5-September 25, they invite people to bring their dogs to their patio to receive happy hour pricing from 4:00-9:00pm. They also offer home made dog treats ("pup-cakes"), and free treats from our friendly local pet store, Kriser’s. They will be providing human-grade treats for the doggos (and perhaps some of the more adventurous human customers! They're tasty, we promise).

Meet and Greet at Marie Bette Cafe in Charlottesville

Special meet and greet.  Enjoy some amazing pastries at Marie Bette Café, home of the bronut and recently developed prezzant (half pretzel half croissant). No dogs allowed inside.  Meet some greyt hounds and learn about how to adopt one through BRGA.  (Hounds will be across the street in the Old Dominion Animal Hospital backyard, look for the sign).
